Our Philosophy
At Dr. Felice's Youthful Images, it is our philosophy that each
patient is a unique individual and should be treated as such. For nearly
20 years it
has been our goal to deliver to our patients the safest, most effective cosmetic
treatments available. In the
process of achieving this goal, the practice expanded and has become a state of
the art comprehensive cosmetic center, mostly due to the unique needs of our
patients.
Clinical skincare and nutritional supplements have become
cornerstones of the practice, by helping patients of all ages and skin types,
look and feel their best every day.
As laser technology became available in the early 1990s, it
became clear these advances would help to treat patients troubled by unwanted
hair, spider veins, sun damage and acne.
For those individuals desiring surgical enhancements, our desire
has been to offer more that the average surgical experience. Privacy and
personalized care are two areas our patients value highly.
For this reason in 1996 we added a AAAASF accredited operating and
recovery room suite. The patient
care given by our highly trained and certified operating room team is
unparalleled. By providing our own on site surgical suite, you can be assured
that all patients are treated with the dignity and respect they deserve, while
maintaining their privacy. Post
operatively, lymphatic drainage massages are performed by a licensed massage
therapist to reduce swelling and promote recovery.
We are always researching new and innovative treatments. Only
after careful consideration for effectiveness and patient safety will a
treatment or product be offered by Youthful Images.
It is our promise to every patient that we will continue to meet
their needs and provide the highest level of care available.

About Dr. Felice
Patrick
R. Felice, M.D. established his practice of plastic surgery in July, 1990 in
Hartford with only one employee. At that time his focus was on cosmetic,
reconstructive and hand surgery. Over the years Dr. Felice has made staying
up-to-date on the latest developments in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery his
top priority. Now specializing in cosmetic surgery, he performs a variety of
procedures including liposuction, facelifts, breast augmentation, breast lifts,
eyelid-lifts, nose reshaping, laser surgery, botox injections and spider vein
treatments. Furthermore, Dr. Felice has been actively involved in training his
peers nationally in cosmetic surgery and laser techniques.
Since 1991, the practice has moved to Bloomfield and evolved as Youthful
Images to include laser surgery and clinical skin care services including BioMedic skin care, laser hair removal,
and a state licensed in-office
surgical facility to ensure the comfort and privacy of his patients.
Additionally, Dr. Felice now employs a complete certified staff of highly
qualified professionals.
Youthful Images was created in order to provide the highest standard of care
possible in cosmetic surgery. From the very first phone call to the
consultation, an individual is treated with the greatest amount of attention and
the highest degree of professionalism. Dr. Felice has always been committed to
the process of education. We are all individuals and all have individual needs.
Those needs can only be met with a process that allows trust and comfort with Dr. Felice and the staff. This process is enhanced during the
consultation process by listening to the individual and then creating a plan
that will accomplish their desired goals.
Earning his B.A. in Biology at West Virginia University in 1976, Dr. Felice
went on to graduate from the West Virginia University Medical School in 1983. He
moved to the Hartford area where he performed his general surgery residency at
the University of Connecticut in Farmington until 1988. Dr. Felice earned his
Board Certification from the American Board of Surgery in 1989 while completing
his training in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the Medical College of
Ohio in Toledo. In 1995 he earned his board certification in Plastic and
Reconstructive Surgery and was awarded Diplomat Status by the American Board of
Plastic Surgery. Presently, Dr. Felice maintains active privileges at Saint
Francis Hospital and Medical Center, Health South Surgery Center, and the
University of Connecticut where he is an Associate Clinical Professor.
Dr. Felice has been married for over thirty years and has two daughters
and a son.

Our Office and Staff
At Dr. Felice's Youthful Images, the focus of the practice has always been
the patient. For that reason, we are a complete cosmetic center that caters to a
wide variety of patient needs, both in plastic surgery and non-surgical cosmetic
procedures.
As well as providing a quality care and a variety of procedures for our
patients, our office is also designed to have a comfortable, professional, and
friendly atmosphere.

In order to give highest quality of care, the Staff of Dr. Felice's Youthful
Images are highly qualified professionals and have had extensive education and
training by Dr. Felice in the field of plastic surgery.
Our Operating Facility and Why you should settle for nothing less
Dr. Felice's Youthful Images operating room facility has been accredited by
the American Association of Ambulatory Facilities (AAAASF) since 2002. AAAASF
certifications is recognized as the gold standard, providing evidence that
a facility has exceeded industry standards for patient care and safety.
In spring of 2007, the state of Connecticut mandated that all ambulatory
surgery centers must be licensed, as well as certified. In June 2007, Dr.
Felice's Youthful Images was proudly awarded a Connecticut state license to
operate as a licensed ambulatory surgery center (license #0309). The addition of
state licensure adds yet another level of safety specifications to ensure
patients receive the highest quality patient care.
AAAASF certified and state licensed facilities are rigorously inspected and
evaluated annually by both governing bodies. Members of the operating room staff
must be board certified and demonstrate exceptional skill and knowledge. In
addition, AAAASF and the state of Connecticut require surgeons be board
certified in a surgical specialty recognized by the American Board of Medical
Specialties. This is an important distinction from other governing bodies
that do not require such high standards. Meeting these extensive care standards
assures patients of our commitment to excellence.
Dr. Felice's Youthful Images is also a proud member of the Connecticut
Association of Ambulatory Surgery Centers, as well as an active member of the
Ambulatory Surgery Center Patient Safety Organization. Both organizations review
patient safety data quarterly. This data aids in the ongoing development of new
protocols and procedures, which are used to maintain our unparalleled level of
excellence and safety.

Nancy Russo, RN, BSN,
NE-BC
Clinical Administrator |
|

|
Nancy graduated from Barry University in Miami, Florida. She joined Dr. Felice's Youthful Images in 1997 as clinical administrator,
prior to which her background had been in oncology and nurse consulting. She has
been a board certified nursing administrator since 1998 and a member of the
American Society of Plastic Surgery Nurses, The CT Association of Ambulatory
Surgery Centers/Patient Safety Organization as well as the National Association
of Professional Women.
Nancy is responsible for patient education, development and implementation of
clinical protocols and procedures, as well as being an active member of the
operating room team.
One of her main roles is overseeing patient care and assisting patients
through the surgical process. By answering questions and providing all the
necessary information needed to make an informed decision, patients can then
determine if plastic surgery is right for them. Every surgical patient meets
with Nancy preoperatively, so she can further explain the procedure, review
preparation for surgery, as well as what to expect postoperatively.
In the operating room Nancy's role is to ensure the highest level of care is
maintained throughout both the surgical and recovery periods. Her follow up
continues after discharge, where she speaks to every surgical patient the first
night after their surgery to answer question, review postoperative care or just
offer reassurance. Patients can feel comfortable contacting Nancy with questions
or concerns they may have regarding their procedure. This attention to patient
care is what we feel sets Youthful Images apart from other practices.

What Makes Surgeons Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery so
Uniquely Qualified?
In most states, a licensed physician may perform plastic surgery without
being board certified in plastic surgery. Just because a doctor is
board-certified does not mean he or she is certified by the ABPS.
The ABPS is the only one of the 24 boards approved by the American Board of
Medical Specialties that certifies physicians in plastic surgery of the face and
body.
To be board-certified by the ABPS a physician must meet rigid requirement:
 | Graduate from an accredited medical school |
 | Complete a combination of at least 5 years of general surgery and plastic
surgery residency training. |
 | Pass comprehensive oral and written exams |
By choosing an ABPS board-certified physician, you are
assured that your doctor is experienced, extremely knowledgeable in his field
and will provide for you the highest quality of care.
Why
look for the ASPS symbol of excellence?
Only members of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons may display the ASPS
logo. This symbol of excellence in plastic surgery is what to look for when
deciding on surgeon. It tells you that you are choosing a physician by the
American Board of Plastic Surgery.
Besides ABPS certification, membership in the ASPS requires a plastic surgeon to
regularly attend continuing medical education courses and to adhere to a strict
code of ethics. Also, ASPS members are required to perform surgery in
accredited facilities.
Why insist on a state licensed and AAAASF Accredited Facility?
In the spring of 2007, the state of Connecticut mandated that all ambulatory
surgery center must be state licensed and certified. This licensure calls for
detailed safety requirements and annual inspections. It is only granted to
facilities who also meet the criteria of AAAASF accreditation.
American Association of Ambulatory Surgery
Facilities (AAAASF) certification is recognized as the gold standard,
providing evidence that a facility has exceeded industry standards for patient
care and safety. AAAASF facilities are rigorously inspected and evaluated
annually. Members of the operating room staff must be board certified and
demonstrate the exceptional skills and knowledge required by AAAASF. AAAASF
requires surgeons be certified in a surgical specialty recognized by the
American Board of Medical Specialties. This is an important distinction between
AAAASF and other governing bodies that do not require such high standards.
Meeting these extensive care and safety standards, assures patients of our commitment
to excellence and meeting these high standards. Back to Top |
